Frequently Asked Questions
57+ answers about how Kiwi Funded works — evaluations, payouts, rules, the platform and more.
What is Kiwi Funded?+
Kiwi Funded is a simulated proprietary-trading firm. You pay a one-time fee to take a trading evaluation on a virtual account that follows clearly published rules. If you meet the objectives you receive a simulated funded account, and once funded you can earn real cash rewards (“payouts”) calculated from your simulated profits. It’s a way to prove trading skill and get rewarded for performance without risking your own capital in live markets.
Is this real trading with real money?+
No. Every account — including funded accounts — is a simulation running on virtual balances and simulated market data. We are not a broker or exchange, we do not hold client funds for trading, and no order you place is sent to a live market. The rewards you can earn are real, but the trading environment is simulated.
If it’s simulated, how are the payouts real?+
The payout is a performance reward. When you trade a funded account well and follow every rule, we pay you real money based on your profit split. Think of the evaluation fee as the cost of entering a skill-based programme, and the payout as the prize for performing in it.
How fast do I get my account after paying?+
Instantly. As soon as your payment is confirmed, your account is provisioned automatically and your Kiwi Terminal login is ready. Crypto payments activate as soon as the network confirms the transaction.
Do I need any special software?+
No. Kiwi Terminal runs entirely in your browser. You just need a stable internet connection and a modern browser. There’s nothing to download or install.
What do I need to sign up?+
An email address and a password. After creating your account you’ll complete a short profile (name, date of birth, contact and address details). Full identity verification (KYC) is only needed later, before your first payout.
What account types do you offer?+
We offer one-step, two-step, and instant-funding style plans across a range of account sizes. One- and two-step plans include an evaluation phase (or two) before funding; instant plans skip the evaluation and start funded. The exact objectives and pricing for each plan are shown on the plan cards on the Challenges page.
What account sizes are available?+
Account sizes typically range from $5,000 up to $100,000 in virtual balance. Larger allocations can be reached through consistent performance and scaling. Check the Challenges page for the sizes currently on sale.
Can I hold more than one account?+
Yes, you can hold multiple accounts, but every account must be in your own name and traded personally by you. You may not hedge between your own accounts, coordinate trades across accounts, or copy the same trades across accounts — doing so will breach all of your accounts.
What’s the difference between a challenge and a funded account?+
A challenge (evaluation) account is where you demonstrate you can hit a profit target while respecting the loss limits. A funded account is what you receive after passing — it has no profit target, and it’s the account from which you can request payouts.
Do accounts expire?+
There’s no hard time limit to pass, but accounts must stay active. If an account goes too long without any qualifying trading activity it can be closed for inactivity. The exact inactivity window is shown in your rules.
Can I change my plan after buying?+
Plans can’t be swapped after purchase, but you’re free to buy a different plan at any time. If you breach an account you can pay for a reset to start that evaluation again.
What is the daily loss limit?+
It’s the maximum your equity may fall within a single trading day, measured from your day-start equity. It’s typically in the region of 3–5% depending on the plan. If you hit it, the account is breached automatically. The exact figure is on your plan card and in your terminal.
What is the maximum drawdown / overall loss limit?+
It’s the maximum your account may fall overall — usually around 6–10% depending on plan. Depending on the plan it’s either static (measured from your starting balance) or trailing (measured from your highest equity high-water mark). Your terminal shows a live drawdown bar so you always know where you stand.
What is the profit target?+
It’s the simulated profit you must reach to pass an evaluation phase, shown as a percentage of the account size on each plan card. Instant and funded accounts have no profit target.
Is there a consistency rule?+
On some plans, yes. A consistency rule caps how much of your total profit can come from a single day (for example, no single day may exceed a set percentage of your total profit). This encourages steady trading rather than one lucky day. Where it applies, it’s listed on the plan.
Are there minimum trading days?+
Some plans require a minimum number of days on which you actually traded before you can pass or request a payout. A “trading day” usually means a day on which you took at least a minimum amount of risk. Check your plan for the exact requirement.
What happens if I breach a rule?+
Hard-limit breaches (daily loss or max drawdown) are detected automatically at tick level. When a breach happens, trading is disabled on that account immediately and open positions are closed. A breach is final, though you can pay for a reset to try that evaluation again.
Do you have swap/overnight fees?+
No. Kiwi Funded never charges swap or overnight financing on simulated positions. What you see is what you get.
What trading is not allowed?+
Anything that exploits the simulation rather than demonstrating genuine skill. That includes hedging across accounts, group hedging, trade copying between accounts, latency or price-feed arbitrage, exploiting stale or off-market prices, gap or spike exploitation, and abusing platform errors. The full list is in the Challenge Agreement and Trader Agreement.
What exactly counts as hedging?+
Hedging means holding opposing positions (one buy and one sell) in the same or correlated instrument to lock in an outcome. Doing this across two or more accounts — your own or in coordination with others — is strictly prohibited. On a single account, a first offence is a warning; a repeat, or any cross-account hedge, breaches every account you own.
Can I use an EA or trading bot?+
Personal expert advisors may be allowed within limits on some plans, but fully automated, high-frequency, or copy-trading systems are not. Using the same automated strategy across multiple accounts is treated as prohibited coordination.
Is news trading allowed?+
News trading is allowed or restricted on a per-plan basis, as published on the plan page. Even where allowed, the ordinary effects of news — slippage, spread widening, and gaps — are part of the simulation and are not grounds for compensation.
What happens if I break a prohibited-practice rule?+
We are the sole judge of prohibited conduct. Depending on severity we may void the affected trades, issue a warning, breach the account, breach every account associated with you, and withhold or cancel any pending or paid reward — potentially without prior notice.
What is the profit split?+
The profit split is the percentage of your simulated funded profit that you keep. Standard splits are competitive, and the exact split for each plan is set on the plan card (instant-funding plans may carry a different split from evaluation plans). High performers can reach up to a 90% split.
When can I request my first payout?+
Once you’re funded and have met your plan’s minimum activity, consistency, and holding requirements. Many plans allow payout requests on a recurring cycle (for example, every 14 days) after an initial period. Your dashboard shows when your next payout window opens.
Are payouts capped?+
Yes — each request is capped based on your account size (roughly 1–4% of the account per request depending on plan and size). This keeps payouts sustainable and tied to consistent performance.
How are payouts paid and how long do they take?+
Payouts are reviewed manually and typically processed within about 8 hours after approval, sent in crypto. Approved KYC is required before any payout is released.
Do I pay tax on payouts?+
Yes — you are responsible for any taxes on rewards you receive and for reporting them to your local authorities. Kiwi Funded does not provide tax advice.
Can a payout be refused?+
A payout can be declined if it arises from, or is tainted by, any rule breach or prohibited practice, or if identity verification fails. Payouts earned cleanly and in line with the rules are honoured.
When do I need to verify my identity?+
KYC is required before your first payout, and may occasionally be requested earlier for fraud prevention. You can trade your evaluation and get funded before completing it, but you can’t withdraw until it’s approved.
What documents do you need?+
A government-issued photo ID (passport, driving licence, or national ID), a proof of address dated within the last three months, and a liveness selfie check to confirm it’s really you.
How is my KYC data protected?+
All documents are encrypted at rest with AES-256 and in transit with TLS, are accessible only to authorised compliance staff on a need-to-know basis, and are retained only as long as the law requires. See our Privacy Policy and KYC Policy for details.
How long does verification take?+
Verification is reviewed manually, usually within 24–48 hours. If a document is unclear, expired, or doesn’t match your profile, we’ll ask you to resubmit.
What platform do I trade on?+
Kiwi Terminal — our browser-based trading platform. It features professional charts (TradingView Lightweight Charts), one-click trading, drag-to-set stop-loss and take-profit, a full order book and positions panel, and live prices over WebSocket.
What can I trade?+
A wide range of simulated CFDs: forex majors, minors and exotics; major indices (such as US30, NAS100, SPX500, DAX40, FTSE100 and Nikkei); commodities and energies (gold, silver, WTI, Brent, natural gas); and crypto (BTC and ETH). The full instrument list is in the terminal watchlist.
What leverage do I get?+
Leverage is up to 1:100 on forex, with lower leverage on indices, energies, and crypto to reflect their higher volatility. Your exact leverage is shown on your account.
How do I set a stop-loss and take-profit?+
You can set them in the order panel before entering, drag the levels directly on the chart, or add and adjust them on an open position from the positions panel. You can also modify or partially close positions at any time.
What order types are supported?+
Market, limit, and stop orders, with attached stop-loss and take-profit. You can manage, modify, and close pending and open orders directly from the terminal.
Can I trade on mobile?+
Kiwi Terminal is browser-based and works on modern mobile browsers, though the full experience is best on a desktop or tablet screen.
What payment methods do you accept?+
We accept crypto payments, processed through our self-hosted payment system. Your account activates automatically once the payment confirms.
Can I use a promo code?+
Yes — enter your promo code at checkout to apply a discount. Some codes have usage limits or per-customer caps. If a code doesn’t apply, it may be expired, fully used, or already used on your account.
What is your refund policy?+
Fees are non-refundable once an account has been traded. We may, at our discretion, consider a refund for an account that has never been traded. Refunds don’t apply after a breach, disqualification, or violation. See the Refund & Liability Policy for full details.
What if I have a technical issue during a trade?+
Isolated technical issues — including problems with your own connection, device, or third-party tools, and ordinary slippage around news — are not grounds for a refund or account adjustment. You’re responsible for the stability of your own setup.
What happens if I file a chargeback?+
Filing a chargeback instead of contacting support is treated as a material breach. It results in a permanent ban and forfeiture of all accounts and pending rewards, and we may pursue recovery of the disputed amount plus costs.
Do I get a certificate when I pass or get paid?+
Yes. Kiwi Funded issues certificates for milestones such as passing a challenge, becoming funded, and receiving a payout. Each certificate carries a unique QR code linking to a public verification page.
Can I verify a certificate is genuine?+
Yes. Every certificate has a QR code and a verification link. Scanning it opens a public page confirming the certificate details directly from our records, so it can’t be faked.
Can I choose the name on my certificate?+
Yes. You can set the display name used on your certificates from your dashboard, so it shows exactly how you want to be recognised.
Do you have an affiliate programme?+
Yes. Affiliates earn a revenue-share commission on referred purchases, tracked through unique referral links and coupons. See the Affiliate Agreement for terms.
How and when do I get paid as an affiliate?+
Affiliate earnings become claimable once the referred activity has settled and any conditions in the Affiliate Agreement are met. Self-referrals, spam, misleading income claims, and brand-keyword bidding are prohibited.
How do I reset a breached account?+
You can pay for a reset from your dashboard, which restores that evaluation to its starting state so you can try again. Resets are a paid service; a breach doesn’t give you a free new account.
Can I delete my account?+
Yes. You can delete a trading account or your whole profile from your dashboard. Deletion is permanent, so we show a clear warning first. Some records may be retained where the law requires.
How do you keep my account secure?+
We support secure sign-in, encrypt sensitive data, log access, and monitor for suspicious activity and multi-accounting. Keep your password private and use a strong, unique password.
Why was my account flagged for sharing an IP?+
We monitor for signs of multi-accounting, including accounts that share an IP address or device. A shared IP alone isn’t a breach, but it may prompt a review. If you trade from a shared network (like a household), let support know.
How do I contact support?+
Email support@kiwifunded.com from your registered address, or open a ticket from your dashboard. For complaints use complaints@kiwifunded.com, and for privacy requests use privacy@kiwifunded.com.
How quickly will I get a response?+
We aim to respond within a couple of business days, and faster for time-sensitive issues like payouts and verification.
I think my breach was wrong — what can I do?+
Open a support ticket explaining the situation. Where a breach is reasonably disputed, we can review the tick-level logs behind it and correct genuine errors.
